Here are some more puppies up for adoption in Miami.
They seem to be a Lab mix but I will have more detailed information soon.
Meantime, if anyone is interested in a pup, please send me a note via this

My New Favorite Treat

Courtesy of Flickr.com

My new favorite treat: Choquettes (recipe)

Oh, my!  These pillowy treats are simply the most indulgent thing I've tried as of late.
When I am called to pet sit in the Grove, I'll pop in to 'Chocolate Fashion'
(a french café) and order 1/2 dozen of these puffy pleasures.  I'll sit outside
the café and sip my café con leche as I savor these french puffs.  I have a lot
of will power, so I'll indulge sparingly (meaning, only once a month, perhaps)
so as to keep the anticipation high when I know I will be going back for
another batch soon enough.

Tiny Home Designs Advancing Toward The Sophisticated

I am finally starting to see tiny spaces being designed with clever and
sophisticated ideas, making the most use of the small space without
sacrificing beauty, spaciousness, appeal.  Here is a great one.

Attention, All 'Dragon Ball Z' Fans

Take a look at what is roaming around Miami, FL. My son got a big kick out of this car (he wanted to trade in his convertible Porsche, which he just received as a graduation present (and no, I'm not rich, it's his father's old Porsche).

The most delish bowl of oatmeal I've ever had..truly!

I am not exaggerating when I say this morning I lovingly made myself a most delicious bowl of oatmeal. Firstly, I had already prepared beforehand a delicious batch of almond milk (almonds were soaked for 24 hours prior to making the milk, I will post my recipe later).

Simple oatmeal recipe here:

1/2 cup rolled oats (NOT quick oats)
Pinch of salt

Boil the oatmeal in about a cup of water for 15 to 20 minutes, then drain.

I then added to the oatmeal some sesame seeds (I pre-soaked these as well, then roasted them). I also added some shredded coconut, chopped almonds and freshly ground cinnamon.

Warm up the milk, add a tiny amount of honey or natural organic sugar to taste.

Oh, my!!

This is one of my favorite photos of my beloved Amadeus.
It was taken with the iPhone 3gs, tweaked with Hipstamatic.

Nothing Says 'I Love You' Like Homemade

This is a doggie treat recipe that I found via a food blog:

Beef and Cheddar Dog Biscuits

Yield: About 24 (4" biscuits)

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Bake Time: 40 minutes

Ingredients:

1 cup rolled oats

1/3 cup unsalted butter (about 5 and 1/3 tablespoons), cut into pieces

1 cup boiling water

¾ cup cornmeal

2 teaspoons granulated sugar

2 teaspoons beef bouillon granules

½ cup milk

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 egg, beaten

3 cups whole wheat flour

1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats; set aside.
2. In a large bowl, pour the boiling water over the oats and butter. Stir briefly and let stand for 10 minutes.
3. Add the cornmeal, sugar, beef bouillon, milk, cheese, and egg to the bowl; mix well. Stir in the whole wheat flour, one cup at a time, until a stiff dough as formed.
4. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead, adding additional flour if necessary, until the dough is smooth and no longer sticky.
5. Divide the dough in half. Working with one half at a time, roll the dough out with a rolling pin to ½-inch thickness. Cut with a cookie cutter and space evenly on the prepared baking sheets. Re-roll the remaining dough scraps and continue cutting until all the dough as been used.
6. Bake 35-45 minutes, until golden brown. Remove to wire racks to cool completely.
